KAI TAK MTR STATION

Ahead of construction of a building located directly above Kai Tak MTR station, VSL installed an Automatic Deformation Monitoring System (ADMS) across 300 m of the underground railway tunnel, under tightly-controlled access conditions. The real-time information was used to prevent any impact of above-ground site activity on the safe operation of the tunnels.

CARRYING OUT FOUNDATION WORKS FOR TWO UNDERGROUND STATIONS IN EGYPT

Carrying out foundation works for two underground stations in Egypt - Phase 3 of Cairo Metro Line 3 is almost 17.7km in length and comprises 15 stations. VSL was therefore appointed to undertake the foundation works package for Sudan and Wadi El Nile stations, and formed a JV with Soletanche Bachy International and Orascom Construction for the project. The package includes the construction of permanent diaphragm walls, foundation barrettes and deep-grouted rafts at the two stations.

CARRYING OUT GROUND TREATMENT FOR TUNNEL CONSTRUCTION UNDER A LIVE RAILWAY

Carrying out ground treatment for tunnel construction under a live railway - The Three Runway System project is of such a scale that it is almost equivalent to building a whole new airport next to the existing Hong Kong International Airport. The project was divided into different packages, including the provision of a new 2,600m-long Automated People Mover and an equally long high-speed Baggage Handling System, for which Intrafor was hired.

Gantry operation and pretensioning works for a new bridge in singapore - The construction of a new road access at Tuas View Basin in Singapore required the design and construction of two viaducts (Route 2 and Route 3) from Tuas South Avenue 9 to Tuas View Basin. VSL’s scope of works included the provision, assembly and operation of the gantry for the erection of the seven main-span U-girders for Route 2 and Route 3.

Building a diaphragm wall in the heart of a city - Hong Kong’s Trunk Road (T2) will connect the Central Kowloon Route to the Tseung Kwan O – Lam Tin Tunnel along a key axis that stretches through the centre of Hong Kong and near Victoria Harbour. The Trunk Road takes the form of a tunnel approximately 3km in length carrying a two-lane dual carriageway.
